Recently retired, John led Deloitte’s Arizona audit and assurance practice for 16 years during which he was responsible for all aspects of the practice including operating results, talent development, client service, and growth. Most recently he was the growth leader of the audit and assurance practice at eight Deloitte offices where he was instrumental in the development and execution of strategy to grow the audit practice in the western United States. Over the course of his career John was a member of The Deloitte Foundation Board of Directors, Deloitte’s Finance and Audit Committee, Deloitte’s Strategic Investments Committee, Deloitte's Partner Admissions National Review Committee, and as a senior Deloitte partner John participated in many client Board and Audit Committee meetings.
In addition to his leadership roles at Deloitte, John is an accomplished and widely respected member of the business community and has served in the following roles:
President of the Arizona State Board of Accountancy, a governor appointed position.
Chairman of the Arizona State University/W.P. Carey School of Business Dean’s Council of 100 Board of Directors.
ASU School of Accountancy Professional Advisory Committee member.
Greater Phoenix Economic Council Audit Committee member.

In 2008, John was a recipient of the inaugural “Centers of Influence” Awards presented by AZ Business Magazine, where he was named one of Arizona’s top 10 most influential accountants. In 2010, John gave the fall commencement speech to graduates of ASU’s W.P. Carey School of Business where he was awarded the Distinguished ASU Graduate award in 2010. In 2014, Az Big Media named John one of the top four most influential leaders in the Arizona accounting industry who exhibit the greatest influence, experience and leadership in Arizona.
